West Florida sweeps Delta Devils

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 PENSACOLA, Fla. -- West Florida finished a three-game sweep over the Mississippi Valley State baseball team Wednesday, defeating the Delta Devils in seven innings in all three games.

The No. 6 ranked Argonauts defeated MVSU 11-1 Tuesday before claiming 10-0 and 9-1 wins on Wednesday.

In the first game, Valley (2-18, 1-6 SWAC) scored its lone run in the sixth inning on a Luke Brumfield RBI-single up the middle. Jonathan Parker suffered the loss, allowing nine earned runs and 16 hits in six innings of work.

Game Two
The Argonauts scored six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning on the way to a 10-0 victory over the Delta Devils. West Florida allowed only two MVSU hits. David Lostra suffered the loss, allowing five earned runs on seven hits in 3.1 innings.

Game Three
West Florida combined to score seven runs through the first three innings, including four in the first, and never looked back. Trey Lacy led MVSU with a pair of hits, including a double. German Hays knocked in Valley's lone run in the fourth inning on a single to left field. Grant Reifers was dealt the loss after allowing four hits and four earned runs in 0.1 innings of work.

The Delta Devils will be at Alcorn State for a three-game series starting Saturday at 1 p.m.
