Box Score FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Arkansas limited Mississippi Valley State to just two hits Tuesday as the Razorbacks breezed their way past the Delta Devils 6-0 in the first of a two-game series.
Kevin Simmons and German Hays accounted each had a hit for MVSU (3-22) but the Delta Devils committed three errors against the tough SEC opponent in the second-ever meeting between the two schools.
Arkansas (18-7) scored its first run in the third inning thanks to a dropped fly ball and added two more in the fourth on a solo homerun and an RBI-double.
Trey Lacy (0-3) allowed just two earned runs on five hits with four strikeouts in five innings of work for Valley.
The two teams will be back in action Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. in Little Rock, Ark. The game will be broadcasted live on Cox Sports Television (CST).
