Box Score STARKVILLE -- The nation's third-ranked baseball team, Mississippi State, showed why they're one of the top teams Tuesday when they routed Mississippi Valley State 14-2 at Dudy Noble Field.
The Delta Devils (2-12) scored the first run of the game in the top of the first inning on a Seth Milliorn groundout, but the undefeated Bulldogs (16-0) scored in every other inning as they dealt MVSU its third straight loss.
MSU racked up 17 hits and scored three runs in the fourth, sixth and seventh inning.
MVSU had four hits and Montana Killier (0-3) suffered his third loss of the season. He allowed four hits and two earned runs with one strikeout. Milliorn and Luke Brumfield accounted for Valley's two RBIs.
The Delta Devils will be at Jackson State Friday and Saturday. The teams will be play a single game at 6 p.m. Friday and a douleheader Saturday starting at 1 p.m.
