Box Score 2 GREENVILLE, Miss. -- Jackson State opened the three-game series against rival Mississippi Valley State with a pair of victories at Legion Field.
The Tigers won 10-6 in game one and 10-3 in game two. The teams will meet Sunday at 1 p.m. in the final game of the series.
The first game included a combined 10 errors with MVSU (4-30, 1-10 SWAC) accounting for six of them. Montana Kiler (1-9) suffered the loss as he gave up two earned runs and seven hits with a pair of strikeouts.
In the final game of the day, the Delta Devils were held scoreless until the eighth inning when they put three runs on the board. Seth Milliorn hit an RBI-single and Luke Brumfield knocked in a pair of additional runs later in the inning.
Edward Cox had two of Valley's six hits.
Kevin Simmons (1-3) gave up three earned runs on nine hits with one strikeout.
