The Golden Lions needed just seven innings to put away the Delta Devils 24-5 at Legion Field in a nonconference matchup.

UAPB (13-22, 7-7 SWAC) scored seven runs in both the first and sixth inning en route to the win over the homestanding Delta Devils. The Golden Lions, who finished with 18 hits, also put up five runs in the fourth inning and three in the fifth.

MVSU scored four of its five runs in the second inning. Valley used six pitchers including Trey Lacy (0-5) who gave up two earned runs and four hits in 0.2 innings of work.

Demetrins Bonner and Seth Milliorn each had an RBI for the Delta Devils.

MVSU will be back at home Saturday and Sunday when they host Alcorn State in Greenville at Legion Field beginning at 1 p.m. each day.
