Box Score TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The last time Mississippi Valley State and Alabama met in a baseball matchup, the Delta Devils shocked the Crimson Tide with a 8-3 win last season. 

On Tuesday, it ended with the same score, but a different result for Valley. The Tide racked up 14 hits and all eight runs in six innings en route to a 8-3 win over the Delta Devils. 

MVSU (5-42) scored all of its runs in the fifth inning using RBI-singles from Edmund Cheatham and German Hays. 

Valley's David Lostra, who was the winning pitcher last season when Valley defeated Alabama, suffered the loss Tuesday, allowing seven earned runs on 11 hits with two strikeouts. 

Hays and Cheatham each led the Delta Devils with two hits apiece. 

MVSU will be in Greenville, Miss. Thursday and Friday when they host Alabama A&M in a doubleheader each day.
