Box Score ITTA BENA -- Mississippi Valley State's women's soccer team made a step forward Friday by attempting six shots -- its most this season -- against Southeastern Louisiana in its second home game of the season.
But the Devilettes (0-3) were unable to turn those shots into goals as Southeastern blanked MVSU 7-0 at the MVSU Soccer Complex.
Valley's Nykosi Simmons and Josee Primeau both attempted two shots while Maria Areiza and Bianca Vigliante each attempted one.
Devilette goalkeeper Shelby Willcoks finished with nine saves.
Southeastern started off hot, racking up five goals in the first half. Amber Lasher and Kelcey Salcido both finished with a pair of goals apiece for Southeastern.
The Devilettes will be back in action Sunday at Delta State. That game is set to start at 2 p.m.
