MVSU volleyball loses pair at tournament

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 NEW ORLENAS -- The Mississippi Valley State women's volleyball team was dealt a pair of loses at Kathy Trosclair Memorial Tournament.

MVSU started off the day with a 3-0 loss to Nicholls State before falling to Tulane 3-0 in the nightcap. 

Nicholls defeated the Devilettes in straight sets 25-16, 25-12, 25-23. Chylla Nault led MVSU with seven kills while Athena Abary chipped in 11 assists. Abary and Halle Gayten each had a service ace. 

Against Tulane, MVSU fell again in straight sets, 25-10, 25-22 and 25-15. Halee Clark and Halle Gayten each led Valley with four kills apiece. Abary led the Devilettes with seven assists while Alexandria Garland added five. Andrea Lopez accounted for MVSU's lone service ace. 

The Devilettes will close out the tournament with a match against Rider at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
