Box Score NEW ORLEANS -- The Mississippi Valley State volleyball team closed out the final day of the Kathy Trosclair Memorial Tournament with a 3-0 loss to Rider.

Rider won in straight sets, 25-10, 25-20, 25-18. Halle Gayten led Valley with five kills while Ilaisha Hale chipped in four. Athena Abary paced the Devilettes with eight assists while Alexandria Garland chipped in seven.

MVSU's Steffi Rodriguez was named to the All-Tournament team.

MVSU is now still searching for its first win of the season and will have another opportunity Sept. 4 at Tougaloo College. That game is set for 6 p.m.
