"We created great opportunities in front of goal," said MVSU coach Sonia Curvelo. "We went down 1-0 in the second half and the players did an excellent job of responding. It was a game where our team was unlucky when you look at the result and this part of playing the game."
Overall, Curvelo was pleased with the Devilettes' performance.
"This game, we showed more consistency, which is an important stage going into conference play," she said. "(Monday), we will rest and start training on Tuesday to prepare for Alabama A&M, which is a SWAC Tournament qualifying game."
