MVSU soccer falls 5-1 at Nicholls State

Box Score Thibodaux, La. -- Shanesse Spratt scored her first goal of the season for Mississippi Valley State Friday, but unfortuantely the Devilettes still came up four goals too short at Nicholls State.

Valley (1-4) fell to the Colonels 5-1 as Nicholls State (4-0-1) tied its best start in school history.

MVSU's Shelby Willcocks finished with five saves in 90 minutes of action against a NSU team that outshot the Devilettes 20 to 6. Valley's Nykosi Simmons had three shots, a team-high. Spratt, meanwhile, converted one of her two shot attempts.

Valley will be back in action Sept. 15 at Louisiana-Lafayette.
