NEW ORLEANS -- Tulane pounded out 59 second half points en route to a 100-61 win over the Mississippi Valley State men's basketball team Thursday night.Â
DeAngelo Priar led the Delta Devils with 14 points and Jordan Washington scored in double-figures for the third straight game, finishing with 11 points. But the Green Wave (1-1) used their size advantage to grab 14 offensive rebounds and beat the Delta Devils 43 to 25 in the rebounding category.Â
MVSU (0-3) shot 33.3 percent and made 22 of 31 free throws in the first-ever meeting between the two teams.Â
Tulane led 41-27 at halftime and kept pushing the ball inside to outscore the Delta Devils 59-34 in the second half. Four Tulane players scored in double-figures with Jay Hook leading the way with 18 pointsÂ
Jeffrey Simmons added eight points off the bench for Valley, who will be on the road at TCU on Nov. 24.Â
