DeAngelo Priar, who made three 3-point shots in the first half, finished with 12 points and six rebounds while Isaac Williams contributed a career-high 12 points and eight rebounds off the bench.

MVSU forced North Texas to commit 20 turnovers.

Valley held a four-point lead, 11-7, with under 15 minutes left in the first half before the Mean Green went on a 10-0 run highlighted by a pair of three-pointers from TJ Taylor and Maurice Aniefiok. Washington ended the Delta Devils' drought with a 3-pointer of his own to cut the lead to 17-14.

North Texas led 41-27 at intermission and held on to its lead by barely edging MVSU 26-25 in the second half.
