Box Score 2 FAYETTEVILLE -- Mississippi Valley State suffered a pair of losses Tuesday at Arkansas, as the Delta Devils were defeated 6-0 in the first game and 12-1 in the second contest at Baum Stadium.Ā
Game 1 (Arkansas 6, MVSU 0)
Arkansas scored three runs in the fith inning to distance themselves from the Delta Devils with two of its runs coming on a two-run double by Eric Fisher. MVSU's Arrington Smith went 2-for-4 and Parker Thurman extended his hitting streak to eight games. Blake Thomas (0-3) gave up two earned runs on four hits with four strikeouts in four innings on the mound.Ā
Game 2 (Arkansas 12, MVSU 1)
The Razorbacks won in seven innings despite committing three errors in the game. MVSU's Tyji Hawkins and Kalik May each had two hits for MVSU (1-22). Connor Sheppeard (1-7) worked the first two innings, surrendering four earned runs on three hits with one strikeout.Ā
MVSU and Arkansas will meet Wednesday in the final game of the series at 6:30 p.m. in North Little Rock, Ark. on ESPN3 and Cox Sports TV.Ā
