Box Score ITTA BENA -- The Mississippi Valley State women's volleyball team fell, 3-2, against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Thursday night at the Charles Lackey Recreational Center on the MVSU campus.

It marked the second time the two teams have met this season, with MVSU coming away with a 3-2 win over the Lady Lions earlier this season.

On Thursday, however, UAPB won the first set 25-13 before claiming the second set, 25-22. Valley stayed alive by winning the third set, 25-18. Then, the Lady Lions edged the Devilettes 27-25 in the fourth set to win the game.

Halle Gayten led MVSU with 12 kills while Ilashia Hale chipped in 10. Steffi Rodriguez and Kayondra Hood each had 12 digs for the Devilettes and Alexandria Garland finished with 33 assists.

MVSU will be back at home Saturday at noon hosting Grambling State.
