Box Score ITTA BENA, Miss. --- The Mississippi Valley State University Delta Devils dropped a 49-21 decision to the Tigers of Texas Southern University.
 
Mississippi Valley scored the first points of the contest on a 14-yard pass from Thurston Rubin, Jr. to Natron Brooks. Ruben Piraquive tacked on the extra point.

Texas Southern tied the game at seven with just under five minutes remaining, The Tigers scored three more times in the second, before the Delta Devils found the end zone again. Thomas Stokes, Jr. pulled down a 13-yard pass. At halftime the score was 28-14 in favor of TSU.
 
MVSU's Keenan Daniels scored on a 15-yard pass, Piraquive added the extra point before conceding 14 straight points to the Tigers. TSU only scored one touchdown in the fourth.
 
Thurstin Rubin, Jr. went 17-33-3 for 209 yards and three touchdowns for the night, while Dontrinell Scott connected on five of one of three passes for 30-yards. 
 
Rubin and Jerrell Moore paced the Delta Devils with 36 net rushing. Natron Brooks led MVSU in receiving with 58-yards on four receptions and one touchdown.
 
Defensively, Charles Moore tallied 10 total tackles (7 solo and three assists) to lead Mississippi Valley.

On October 24 the Delta Devils will travel to Grambling, Louisiana, to take on the Tigers of Grambling State University at 2:00 p.m.
