ITTA BENA, Miss. ---    The Mississippi Valley State University Devilettes' volleyball team dropped a tight defensive 3-2 contest to the Lady Tigers of Grambling State University.

Freshman libero Kalin Barnes led the MVSU with 22 digs, while fellow state of Texas freshman, Megan Jones paced the team with 10 kills. After dropping the first set 25-22, the Devilettes stormed back to take the next two 25-17 and 25-19.

The remainder of the match Jones, Illaisha Hale, and Marrissa Chalmers were stymied by the defense from Lady Tigers, Alleyah Hensley and Kiara Finley.

Next Tuesday, October 6, the Mississippi Valley will travel to Jackson, Mississippi to face their arch rivals, Jackson State University at 7 p.m.
