NEW ORLEANS --- The Mississippi Valley State University Devilettes dropped an upsetting 3-0 loss to the Privateers of the University of New Orleans.
 
Halley Gayten paced Mississippi Valley with seven kills, while Cynthia Richardson and Kalin Barnes added five and two respectively. Gayten and Tiara Wilkens each tallied one service ace for the Devilettes.
 
In blocks, Brianna Watkins led the team with two; Gayten and Marissa Chalmers each added one each. Brooklyn Hudson scorched the nets with 14 assists, while Wilkens and Bianca Watkins each tallied one. Gayten and Barnes led the Devilettes with seven digs, while Wilkens finished with five.

The set scores were 25-9, 25-8 and 25-20.

The Mississippi Valley State volleyball team will travel to Tougaloo, Mississippi, to face Tougaloo College on Thursday, October 29 at 7:00 p.m.
