Itta Bena, Miss. --- Mississippi Valley State University's volleyball team dueled through five sets before a winner could be declared in the Charles R. Lackey Gym. Going the distance, the Alabama A & M University pulled off a 15-8 win in set five to clinch a 2-3 victory over the Devilettes.

Ilaisha Hale, Marissa Chalmers and Megan Jones tallied 12 and nine kills respectively.  The Devilettes recorded eight service aces combined; Brianna Watkins (4), while Miranda Tapia and Kalin Barnes recorded three and one respectively.
 
Three of Mississippi Valley's players recorded double-digit digs, with Barnes led the way with 22; Chalmers added 15 and Tapia completed the contest with 13.  Tapia was unstoppable tallying 33 assists to pace the Devilettes.

The set scores were 26-24, 25-12, and 25-27, 25-13 and the final 15-8.
