Evanston, Ill. - Tuesday evening the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils fell 78-48 to, Big Ten Conference member, Northwestern University.
The Delta Devils allowed Northwestern to shoot 48% from the field during the first half and 43% for the overall contest.Despite offensive woes Valley State only trailed by ten at the half. Marcus Romain contributed 10 points during the first half while Issac Williams chipped in with nine.
The Delta Devils' shooters as a team went 30% from the field and 16% from behind the arc in the second half. Romain paced the Mississippi Valley with 14 points and 8 rebounds, while Williams tallied 11.
Head Coach Andre Payne stated, "We played some great defense but our offense was not very good. On the road you have to make shots. We will put this behind us and get ready for UNT!"
The Delta Devils' next stop is Denton, Texas, where they will face the University of North Texas Thursday at 11:30 a.m.
