GREENWOOD, Miss. – Christina Reed tallied her second double double for the season with 21-points, 10 rebounds. Ashley Beals sustained an injury early in the contest, however with a tremendous show of athleticism, she also recorded a double double, 15 points, 10 rebounds to pace the Devilettes in their 81-66 loss to the Lady Braves of Alcorn State University.
 
Beals' double double is her sixth of the season. The Devilettes led the Lady Braves after one complete, 20-17 but an aggressive second quarter rally by Alcorn ensured a tight contest going into the halftime break.  With a six-point difference in the score both teams knew victory was within their reach.
 
During the third, MVSU and Alcorn both scored 23-points, placing all pressure on the fourth and final quarter. MVSU scored 10 in the fourth, while ASU scored 19 to seal the victory in their favor.
  
"Each of the players came out and put forth a great effort. We have to continue to grow as a team as the conference season heats up," said Head Coach Elvis Robinson.
