PINE BLUFF, Ark.--- The Devilettes of Mississippi Valley State held true to close calls and overtime as they dropped a conference contest to the Lady Golden Lions of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff 3-2, dropping them to 2-2-2 in Southwestern Athletic Conference play.

The contest was firmly in the hands of Mississippi Valley as they scored both of their goals in the opening half, while holding the UAPB scoreless.

Sarah Cenary scored the first goal for the Devilettes on a cross from Paxton Rodocker at the 32:16 mark; Cenary struck again minutes later for another MVSU goal (39:23).

The Lady Golden Lions rallied back into the contest in the second half, scoring twice to take then game into overtime. An overtime goal by UAPB, lifted UAPB 3-2 over MVSU.
MVSU recorded six shots with five being on goal; UAPB recorded 15 shots with 11 being shots on goal.

Mississippi Valley's goalie Rita Gyasi recorded eight saves, four in the first and four in the second.

The Devilettes will travel to Grambling, Louisiana, Sunday, October 16, to take on the Lady Tigers of Grambling State University.
