HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Mississippi Valley State University soccer team conquered the Alabama A & M University Lady Bulldogs, 6-2 in Huntsville, Alabama.

Laadi Issaka beat out the Alabama A & M goalie to score the Devilettes first goal in just over 12-minutes into the contest. The Lady Bulldogs evened out the score five-minutes later with a goal of their own. Alexus Lawson scored on a free kick by Fatmata Mansaray.

Mariana Balbao made her presence known when she fired off a shot from 20-yards out (20:44). Less than four minutes later Issaka struck again with a header on a corner kick by Paxton Rodocker.

The second half closely mirrored the opening half in terms of scoring by both team. MVSU scored an additional three goals while holding AAMU to one.  

To start the second half scoring, Sarah Bangura of the Lady Bulldogs broke away from the Mississippi Valley defense to score.

Issaka scored each of the Devilettes three second half goals for a second half hat-trick, bringing her total to five goals for the contest.

MVSU fired off 14-shots with 10 being on goal, while Alabama A & M recorded 13, seven of which were on target.

Sydney Newport finished with five saves and conceded two goals.

Mississippi Valley returns home to host the Lady Braves of Alcorn State University on October 28 at 4:00 p.m.
