PINE BLUFF, Ark. – The Devilettes of Mississippi Valley State University hit the road to face the Lady Golden Lions of the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff, dropped the contest 3-0. The sets by the numbers were, 25-11, 25-16 and 25-10.

In the opening set, despite the Devilettes' first serve, UAPB scored the first point.  An attacking error by Marissa Chalmers gave the Lady Golden Lions a 2-0 advantage. A kill by Illiya Trahan gave Mississippi Valley their first point of the contest. A service error by Trahan gave UAPB their next point. The Devilettes were able to climb back into the contest, prior to UAPB going into a scoring frenzy.

A service error by Brooklyn Hudson gave the Golden Lady Lions their first point in the second set. The Devilettes were able to score on a kill by Megan Jones to knot the game at one. Back-to-back points by the Lady Golden Lions took them up 3-1. A kill by Chalmers brought MVSU back into the contest. They were only down 3-2. A six-point run by UAPB made the score 9-2. Mississippi Valley was able to rally back, however the Lady Golden Lions were able to take the set.

The final set swung firmly into the direction of Pine Bluff. The Devilettes were unable to get started offensively and the Lady Golden Lions took the set and the match.
