THIBODAUX, La. – Mississippi Valley's 13-3 loss to Nicholls State in the final game of the series gave the Colonels a clean sweep for the four game series.
The Delta Devils struck first in the top of the first, going up 1-0, when a sacrifice fly by Gabriel Waddell flew into right field, scoring Edward Cox.
NSU responded with a run of their own in the bottom of the inning. MVSU was held scoreless until the fifth inning, when they scored their final two runs. Drew Wheeler nailed a homerun, scoring Cox during the play.
Fredrick Spencer II was the pitcher of record for the Delta Devils. Facing 13 miles per hour southern winds, Spencer pitched 3.2 innings, giving up nine hits, eight runs and seven errors. He also walked three batters.
MVSU finished the contest with five hits and two errors.
