JACKSON, Miss. - The Mississippi Valley Devilettes dropped a road contest Saturday 70-43 to the Lady Tigers of Jackson State University.
Interior defense was an issue the whole evening, as the opponent recorded 24 points in the paint and 19 second chance points. The Devilettes also succumb to 21 points off turnovers and 10 fast break points from the opposition.
Canton, Mississippi, native Ashley Beals lead the Devilettes with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Sharpshooters Zemoria Jernigan and Chelsea Tate could not find their stroke as they both went 1-6 from behind the arc respectively.
The Devilettes continue preparations for the 2016 SWAC Tournament as they travel to Grambling, Louisisana, Monday to face the Lady Tigers of Grambling State University.
