STARKVILLE – The Mississippi Valley State baseball team traveled down Highway 82 to face the 16
th ranked Bulldogs of Mississippi State, dropping the contest 16-1.
Fredrick Spencer, II took the mound for the Delta Devils and in three innings gave up six hits and four runs.
Mississippi Valley preformed well in the opening inning, holding Mississippi State to three runs scored.
The Bulldogs scored one in the second, five in the fifth, four in the sixth and finished with three in the eighth.
The Delta Devils' lone run came in the top of the eighth, on a single by Drew Wheeler, who earned the RBI for Quitman Smith.
MVSU wrapped the contest with one run, seven hits and two errors while MSU tallied 16 runs, 19 hits and one error.
Mississippi Valley will travel to Nashville, Tennessee, to take on Lipcomb University in a three game series, begin
