NATCHITOCHES – Mississippi Valley's baseball team traveled to Natchitoches, Louisiana to face the Demons of Northwestern in a two game series. Game one ended 10-7 in favor of NSU.
Mississippi Valley opened the contest with two runs in the top of the first inning. Northwestern State responded with one run in the bottom of the inning. Gabriel Waddell reached on a fielder's choice, Alex Bravo advanced to second on a throwing error by the pitcher, advanced to third and Drew Wheeler scored, unearned. Chris McWright grounded out to the shortstop to earn the RBI for Bravo scoring.
Neither team scored in the second inning, MVSU scored five runs in the top of the third. Waddell homered to left field to score Drew Wheeler and Arrington Smith. Marshall Parrish singled to right center, bringing in Caleb Lindsey and McWright.
In the bottom of the fourth, NSU scored four runs, twice in the fifth and three in the eighth.
MVSU finished with seven runs, eight hits and no errors. The Demons finished with ten runs, 11 hits and two errors. Game two is set f
