ITTA BENA – The Devilettes of Mississippi Valley State shut the Lady Tigers of Jackson State out 8-0 in five innings in game one of their three game series.
 
MVSU swung their way into the driver's seat of the contest in the bottom of the first inning, scoring three runs over the visiting JSU.
 
Ikeyia Alexander reached first on an error by the second basemen and advanced to second. Alexander earned two RBIs when Deja Talton and Jahcenda Garrett each crossed home plate. Sharia Comier landed a standup double to score Alexander.
 
In the third Annaisa Sanchez scored on a balk. Alexander doubled in the fifth and scored Talton on the play. Up 5-0, Alexandra Dobbins stepped into the box and sent the ball souring over the fence to score three runners. The homerun scored Holly Brown and Alexander on the play.
