RUSTON, La. --- The Devilettes of Mississippi Valley State University soccer team traveled to Ruston, Louisiana, to take on the Lady Techsters of Louisiana Tech. Mississippi Valley was unable to score a goal, dropping the contest 3-0.
 
The Devilettes were able to hold off the surge of Lady Techsters in the opening half, containing them to a single goal in the 23^rd minute.
 
The second half started slowly and was a great show of defensive power. Mississippi Valley didn't concede the second and third goals until the 83^rd and 85^th minutes respectively.
 
In the opening half, Rita Gyasi recorded eight saves, while facing 15 shots. Tech's Carlotta Cartelli recorded one save on two shots.
  
Gyasi finished the contest with 15 saves while facing 18 shots on goal.
 
Mississippi Valley will continue their battle with Louisiana opponents, when they travel to Hammond, La. to face Southeastern Louisiana on September 2 at 7:00 pm.
