ITTA BENA – With the 2017 regular season winding down, the Devilettes soccer team have hit their stride, bypassing the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff 6-3, on a cold rainy senior day.
Rhonique Alexander struck quickly for Mississippi Valley (2:02) on a pass from Laadi Issaka. Issaka joined in the action with a goal of her own when Heather Craddock notched a cross to her in the sixth minute.
Stephany Adomako scored the next two goals for the Devilettes. Both were phenomenal in their execution. The first she scored on a corner kick and the second a well-placed free kick.
UAPB was able to score at 37:54, when Rebecca Holmes was assisted by Karissa Fewnwick and again when Fewnwick scored unassisted.
MVSU's Sheyenne Bonnick scored unassisted in the 54
th minute. The Lady Golden Lion's Sarah Wright scored their final goal at 64:16.
Lightning-footed Issaka scored the final goal on the contest at 82:50. With fancy footwork, Issaka dribbled around the UAPB goalie and with a quick kick, sent it into the goal.
