Samford 83, Mississippi Valley State 70
BIRMINGHAM Ala. – The Delta Devils of Mississippi Valley State dropped to 0-7 on the season, after a close 83-70 loss to the Samford Bulldogs in the Pete Hanna Center.
Dante Scott paced Mississippi Valley with 21-points, three assists and two rebounds, while Nate Nahimy added 13-points, three assists, two steals and two rebounds. Jordan Evans led the team in rebounds with four, he also tallied eight points.
Samford was paced by Justin Coleman with 21-points, 10 assists, two rebounds and one steal. Four of his baskets came from three-point range. Alex Thompson added 18-points; three of which were threes.
With 16 three-point baskets scored by the Bulldogs, Mississippi Valley had to work hard offensively and turn up the heat defensively to stay in the contest. MVSU was able to nail nine three-point baskets of their own.
Mississippi Valley will be in action again on December 3rd, at 2:00 pm when they travel to Stillwater, Oklahoma, to face Oklahoma State University.
