UMass 85, Mississippi Valley State 46

EDINBURG, Texas - A rough shooting day plagued Mississippi Valley State (0-6) in an 85-46 defeat versus the University of Massachusetts at the UTRGV Fieldhouse.

Kristy Parker led the Devilettes with 16 points and five rebounds. Chyna Sawyers added 10 points, four rebounds and one steal.

UMass had four players to post double-figures, creating a balanced offensive attack. Maggie Mulligan landed a double-double with 10-points, 13-rebounds.

The Devilettes shot 19.05 percent from the floor over the first two periods—and 24.6 percent for the contest.

Mississippi Valley will travel to Bowling Green, Kentucky, to face Western Kentucky State University on December 12. Tip-off is set for 5:30 pm.
