LIVINGSTON, Ala. – (Softball) Mississippi Valley State's softball team traveled to Livingston, Alabama, to face the Tigers of the University of West Alabama. MVSU dropped both contests. In game one, UWA collected a 10-6 victory and won 11-3 in the second contest.
Game One:
In the first contest, West Alabama scored one run in the first, to take an early lead. In the second they added four notched four additional runs. Two in the third and three in the sixth.
Mississippi Valley scored once in the second, four in the fourth and their final run came in the sixth.
The Devilettes accumulated six runs on five hits and two errors.
Rebekah Clinton pitched for Mississippi Valley, thus taking the loss in the circle.
Game Two:
MVSU was unable to score until the fourth inning, while UWA was able to build a slight lead, scoring one in the second and third. The Devilettes' three runs in the fourth were their only runs for the contest.
The Tigers scored one in the fourth, and exploded with four runs in the fifth and sixth innings, ending the contest 11-3, in six innings.
