Devilettes Torch Lady Panthers in Doubleheader

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – (Softball) After a disappointing 4-0 loss to the Lady Panthers of Prairie View, Mississippi Valley entered Saturday's double with fierce determination. In game one, MVSU overpowered PVAMU 14-3 in five innings and 4-2 in the final contest.

Game One:

In the first contest, Prairie View took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning. Unbothered, Mississippi Valley scored three runs in the second and third innings. The Lady Panthers were able to push one runner in in the bottom of the third.

In the fourth, the Devilettes scored one runner and the fifth proved to be the straw that broke the contest wide open as they scored seven runs. Prairie View responded with one run in the fifth, however their efforts were futile as Mississippi Valley cruised to an easy victory.

Mississippi Valley finished with 14 runs on 14 hits and no errors.

Chandler Ellis took the win for MVSU in the pitcher's circle.
