LORMAN, Miss. – (Softball) The Devilettes of Mississippi Valley State University traveled to Lorman, Mississippi, to take on the Lady Braves of Alcorn State University, defeating them 4-2.

Scoring was low; however, the energy was high as two of the Southwestern Athletic Conference Eastern Division power hitters stepped onto the diamond.

Neither team scored in the opening two innings, Alcorn was able to push one runner in in the third and another in the fifth.

Mississippi Valley scored all four of their runs in the sixth inning.  Ikeyia Alexander singled up the middle, advanced and scored on an error, while pushing Deja Talton and Kailyn Dunn to score as well.  A single to right field by Anna Sanchez added the final run, when Dejanae Gage scored.

The Devilettes finished with four runs, eight hits and no errors.
