MONTGOMERY (Baseball) – The Delta Devils of Mississippi Valley State closed out their three-game series against the Hornets of Alabama State with a 7-2 victory.

The Delta Devils jumped ahead with two runs in the second inning. Caleb Lindsey singled down the left side to score Ivan Garcia and Paul Hamilton.

In the fourth, Garcia scored on a passed ball, carrying the Delta Devils up 3-0. In the bottom of the fifth, the Hornets were able to climb onto the scoreboard with one run.

The sixth inning proved to be the turning point of the contest, as MVSU scored four runs. Lindsey singled to center field to score Garcia. A double to left field by Aaron
Barkley scored three runners: Jackson Webb, Arrington Smith and Lindsey.

Alabama State scored once in the bottom of the ninth.

The Delta Devils concluded the contest with seven runs on nine hits and no errors.
