ITTA BENA, Miss. – (Softball) Mississippi Valley's softball team returned to action after a rare off weekend to host the Lady Bulldogs of Alabama A & M University; winning the contest 3-1.

AAMU struck first with one run in the top of the fourth inning. It was the bottom of the fifth before MVSU pushed three runners across home-plate.

Anna Sanchez reached second on an error by the right fielder, while Maranda Sandoval, Jodeci Tuia and Dejanae Gage each scored.

Mississippi Valley finished with three runs on three hits and one error.

Rebekah Clinton took the win for MVSU inside the pitcher's circle.
