Box Score JACKSON, Miss. – (Baseball) The Mississippi Valley State University Delta Devils played the Jackson State Tigers to extra innings, prior to dropping the contest 9-8.

Jackson State scored three to get the game going in the bottom of the first inning, before adding once in the third.

Mississippi Valley's bats heated up and the momentum began to swing into the Delta Devils' favor. MVSU scored twice in the fourth and fifth; they scored three in the third.

In the bottom of the sixth, JSU scored three to knot the game at seven all. In the eighth, both teams scored once to tie the game at eight.

With no runs scored in the ninth, the contest headed into extra innings to determine the winner. MVSU was unable to score in the 10^th, however with one run, JSU secured the victory.

Mississippi Valley finished with eight runs on nine hits and two errors.
