BATON ROUGE- The Mississippi Valley soccer team fell short 5-0, in their season opener at Louisiana State University.
The Devilettes were held to three shots and seven saves in the contest. LSU managed to score three goals in the opening half and finished the contest with two in the final 45-minutes.
All was not lost for Mississippi Valley as the goalies were able to record seven saves collectively. Of LSU's 24 shots, only twelve were on target.
The Devilettes recorded only two fouls in the 90-minutes of play, while the Lady Tigers racked up eight.
Mississippi Valley will face the Colonels of Nicholls State in Thibodaux, Louisiana, on August 20th at 1:00 pm.
