ITTA BENA, Miss. – The Mississippi Valley State soccer team returned home to host the Demons of Northwestern State University.
The contest began slowly for both teams, with several missed shots between the two. After 45-minutes of play, the score was deadlocked at 0-0.
Exiting the 15-minute halftime, the Demons' spark turned into a full blaze, as they managed to score their first goal three seconds into the 54th minute. Northwestern State scored their remaining goals at 74:03, 81:52 and 83:36 respectively, clinching the win 4-0.
Mississippi Valley's goalies recorded 10 saves for the afternoon. Each goalie relinquished two goals. The Devilettes recorded 11 shots, seven of which were on target.
On Friday, September 15th, Mississippi Valley travels to Birmingham, Alabama, to face the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Game time is slated for 7:00 PM.
