BIRMINGHAM. – The Mississippi Valley State soccer team traveled to Birmingham, Alabama, to face the Blazers of the University of Alabama- Birmingham. It was a tough day for the Devilettes, as they dropped the contest 3-0.
UAB started the scoring quickly, notching a crossed ball into the left side of the goal. Down 1-0 entering halftime, MVSU had time to shift the momentum in their favor.
In the second half, the Blazers scored another goal in the 53rd minute, moving the score to 2-0. At 80:02, UAB scored the final goal of the contest.
Mississippi Valley's goalie recorded eight saves for the afternoon, while facing 26 shots – 11 of which were on target. The Devilettes recorded seven shots, five of which were on target.
