Devilettes Knock Off Millsaps, 5-0

JACKSON, Miss. – Laddi Issaka recorded a hat trick as she led the Mississippi Valley State Devilettes to an impressive 5-0 victory over the Millsaps Majors on Sunday at Harper Davis Field.
Issaka opened the game with her first goal of the contest just nine minutes into the action. Issaka not only scored goals, but she also set her teammates up for scores. At the 30:54 mark she assisted Heather Craddock on her first goal of the game. Just over 13 minutes later Craddock scored again, pushing MVSU's lead to 3-0.
The rest of the contest belonged to Issaka. At 70:07 she scored her second goal of the game on the assist by Sheyenne Bonnick. A little over a minute later Issaka closed out the scoring as Craddock turned the tables and assisted her goal.
For the game, MVSU recorded 18 shots. The Devilletes dominated the first half, attempting 12 shots while holding Millsaps to only five shot attempts. Rita Gyasi posted six saves in 76:02 minutes of action.
Valley returns to action Friday Sept. 22 when the Devilettes host Alabama A&M at 7 p.m.
