ITTA BENA – The temperatures soared during the contest, however the Devilettes soared higher, pushing the Lady Bulldogs of Alabama A & M to a 3-0 shutout.
Karenth Zabala landed the first goal of the contest on a pass from Katelyn Denton six seconds into the 30th minute. Just four minutes later, Sheyenne Boonick accepted a pass from Stephany Adomako and nailed it pass the goalie, lifting MVSU up 2-0.
Bonnick wasn't done. On the final goal at the 38:06 mark, Bonnick passed the ball to Remeya Ganesh for a smooth finish by the Devilettes.
For the game, MVSU recorded 13 shots. The Devilettes dominated the first half, attempting 10 shots while holding Alabama A & M to no shot attempts. Rita Gyasi posted one save in 90:00 minutes of action.
