GREENVILLE, Miss. – Oakes Toyota continued their relationship with Mississippi Valley State University's Department of Athletics, through The Toyota Green Initiative.

The donation is in conjunction with the Toyota Green Initiative five-year partnership with Historically Black Colleges and Universities and will help schools to continue their commitment to sustainability. The vehicles will be used by school staff for campus-related athletic, recruitment, administrative and facilities use. 

Associate Athletic Director Lee Smith and Head Football Coach Vincent Dancy represented Mississippi Valley during the presentation of keys.

The Toyota Green Initiative (TGI) is an environmental stewardship platform designed to educate HBCU students and alumni on the benefits of adopting a sustainable lifestyle. The program launched in 2010 and is currently in its fifth year. The vehicle donation will provide historically black institutions with a product that will help improve campus environment and promote sustainability to students, alumni and their surrounding community.
