NEW ORLEANS (Baseball) – The Delta Devils season came to an end on day two of the Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament. Mississippi Valley State faced the Panthers of Prairie View A & M in a heated contest. Prairie View fell to the Hornets of Alabama State 7-2 and MVSU fell to Grambling State 14-5.

Prairie View was able to score two runs in the first inning of play. In the third they scored five, three in the fourth, two in the fifth and once in the sixth.

The Delta Devils were able to score once in the bottom of the seventh, when Willie Johnson singled to right field to score Marshall Parrish.

Johnson paced the Delta Devils, in three at bats, he recorded one hits and one RBI.

Nicholas Johnson recorded the loss for the Delta Devils on the mound.

MVSU finished with one run on five hits and three errors. The final score was 13-1.
