ITTA BENA, Miss.  - The Mississippi Valley State University men's basketball team placed two in double figures during its 110-74 setback at Iowa St.  in their 2019-20 season opener at Hilton Coliseum Tuesday.

How It Happened

• Michael Green scored a career-high 22 points hitting 10-of-19 field goals and dished out eight assists to lead the Delta Devils.
• Richard Rivers Jr. hit four three-pointers scoring 12 points.
• Jordan Lyons flirted with a double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds.
• Brandon Kimble had nine points and eight rebounds making both of his shots from three-point range.
• Quinton Alston chipped in eight points with seven rebounds.
• The Delta Devils posted a better three-point field goal percentage of 37.9 (11-29) to 37.1 (13-35) by the Cyclones.
• MVSU trailed by 21 at halftime and the Cyclones extended their lead to 29 by the 15:00 minute mark of the second half. 
• Consecutive three-pointers by Rivers, Alston, and Green followed by a dunk by Lyons trimmed the deficit to 77-58 with 11:43 mark. 
• Green scored 14 of his 22 points in the second half pacing the MVSU scoring.
