ITTA BENA, Miss. – Mississippi Valley State's volleyball team has finalized their 2019 fall schedule. The Devilettes, led by fifth-year head coach Douglas Hunter, will play 34 matches with nine contests taking place at the R.W. Harrison HPER Complex.
"This season should test our squad, but also allows for plenty of opportunities to be successful as we continue to improve on last year." Hunter said. "We will be up for the challenge."

The season is split almost evenly between non-conference and SWAC matchups. For the non-conference portion of the slate, Valley will travel to tournaments at Mississippi State, South Alabama, and Louisiana Tech. Peppered in between are five home matches, beginning with the opener on Labor Day weekend, September 1st, against North Dakota.
SWAC play begins with the first Round-Up in Prairie View, Texas the last weekend in September. A second Round-Up occurs the final weekend in October at Jackson State. These two weekends comprise 10 of the 18 total conference showdowns.
The remaining eight matches are home-and-home contests with the East Division. This includes the Dig Pink match with Jackson State on October 17th and Senior Night versus Alcorn State on November 11th.
Itta Bena will also be the host site for the 2018 SWAC Volleyball Championship, which takes place November 22nd to 24th.
Last season, the MVSU volleyball finished with a 6-27 overall record.
