ITTA BENA, Miss.  – Mississippi Valley State soccer will travel to Little Rock, Ark. on Thursday (Sept. 12) before returning home Saturday (Sept. 14) to face Green Bay. Both kickoff times are set for 6 p.m.. Live stats and video are available for the Little Rock match.
LAST TIME OUT FOR THE DEVILETTES: Valley split its two meetings over last week. Ronia Pierre-Louis (Pickering, Ont., Can.) and Beatriz Kretteis (London, England) supplied goals as the Devilettes came from behind     against     South Carolina State, 3-2, on September 6th. Two days later, they struggled in an 8-0 loss to Southern Miss. Valley was outshot 36-1 as the Golden Eagles scored six goals in the first half.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS: The Trojans of Little Rock are off to a rocky start in 2019, winning just one game in seven with two ties. The one victory is against a SWAC competitor - Grambling State - with the ties     coming against     UT Martin and in their last match against Central Arkansas, known as the Governor's I-40 Showdown. Julia Edholm leads the Trojans with four points off of a pair of goals. Green Bay is on a SWAC swing,     facing Arkansas Pine Bluff,     Valley and Alcorn this week. The defensive minded Phoenix have three victories, all of them shutouts, against Valparaiso, Chicago State and UC Davis. Caitlin Hawley - like Edholm - leads her     team with two goals, and McKayla     Kertscher has two assists.
LAST TIME OUT AGAINST THESE TEAMS: Little Rock is a frequent competitor of Mississippi Valley, and the Trojans have won all six prior meetings against the Devilettes. In 2018, Little Rock scored a pair of first half     goals as they     blanked Valley, 3-0. Saturday will see the first ever meeting between Valley and Green Bay.
