ITTA BENA, Miss. – Mississippi Valley State's soccer has held to its third straight shutout Saturday (Sept. 14) in a 4-0 loss to Green Bay at The Valley Soccer Complex.
The Devilettes record fell to 1-4-1 and have conceded 15 goals during the span.
Just like the other two contests in the losing streak, the stats were lopsided against Valley. Green Bay outshot the Devilettes 29-3 with 16 shots on goal. Kristien Lindo (Whitby, Ont., Can.) registered two shots off of free kicks, and Hannah Crise (Garland, Tex.) added a strike late in the game.
Despite giving us four goals, keeper McKenzie McCarthy (Olive Branch, Miss.) maintained her double digit saves streak with 11 stops.
The Phoenix improved to 5-3 after two goals from Grace Taylor and goals by Mia Spain and Caitlyn Hawley.
Saturday's match concludes the non-conference portion of Valley's schedule. The team now takes two weeks on idle before resuming play in a Texas road swing against Prairie View A&M (Sept. 27) and Texas Southern (Sept. 29).
